Arran

Blairgowrie
Lying at the foot of the Grampians, Blairgowrie (“Plain of Gowrie” in Scottish Gaelic) has been occupied continuously since the Neolithic period. The town’s centrepiece is the Wellmeadow, a grassy triangle on which regular markets and shows are held. Highland Games are held annually on Bogles Field.
Aberfoyle
Aberfoyle, in the heart of the Trossachs, was once an important slate mining town and is now a picturesque tourism centre with a bustling Main Street. The magnificent surrounding scenery formed by the geological Highland Boundary Fault features in Sir Walter Scott’s The Lady of the Lake.
Oban
Oban, the most popular resort and touring centre in the Western Highlands, its busy harbour provides the link with the islands of the Inner Hebrides and it also has plenty of shops. The busy port is overlooked by McCaig’s Tower, a folly erected at the turn of the 20th century.
