YOUR RESORT
Exmouth developed as a resort in Georgian times and was once probably
the most select resort in Britain. Today it offers golden sands, colourful
gardens and a bustling harbour side. Its two mile long promenade provides
a range of activities from boating, amusements and crazy golf to dancing
and entertainment at the Exmouth Pavilion.
There are boat trips along the estuary and riverside pubs, as well as a
miniature railway and Country Life centre. The coast from Exmouth to Dorset
has been officially ranked alongside the Grand Canyon and Great Barrier Reef
as one of the natural wonders of the world.
TOWN CENTRE
Exmouth has good shopping with an indoor market and a pedestrianised
high street, as well as Georgian pubs and high quality restaurants serving
a variety of local and international dishes. The newly developed yacht
harbour and railway station are both within a few minutes walk of the
Cavendish Hotel.
BEACH & GARDENS
Exmouth's sandy beach is directly across the road from the Cavendish Hotel.
There are well kept parks just a short walk away, including the Strand Gardens
and Manor Gardens, both well-known for their beautiful floral displays.
