Overlooked by Pendennis Castle, one of Henry VII’s forts, Falmouth’s historic past is commemorated in its National Maritime Museum. Nearby, visitors can spot sea life including dolphins and seals at Pendennis Point. The Falmouth Art Gallery features a shop and library where visitors can spend a quiet afternoon, surrounded by the works of Pablo Picasso, John Singer Sergeant and John Williams Waterhouse, among others. There are also several sandy beaches and a long high street with a variety of independent shops.
